Through these years, Scott was the GMI President in the distance — not yet walking in my daily life. On the other end of the road, Jim Erickson was the one who recruited me from Grace Ministry into global(x) (Jim's story unfolds on his own page).

From 2018, he was no longer only the voice that sent me — he became my theology mentor, and from that same year, took the formal role as this ministry's Theology Consultant. Through prayer, on calls, and in the shaping of counseling discipleship, he walked each mountain with me. His entry layered grace theology and the work of emotional maturity into my life — not as another teaching, but as a continual walking-alongside. Maturing in Grace kept growing slowly in the Asia Chinese-speaking ministry community; Scott layered grace theology into my everyday life — in prayer, on calls, in the shaping of counseling discipleship.

2020 把棒交給我PASS THE BATON

He was not handing me his own baton — he was my theology mentor reminding me and teaching me: "passing the baton well" is not a final act at the end, but a road that starts from now. L2L (Leader to Leader), inviting the next generation of leaders into the room, letting the ministry no longer be capped by "my" capacity — all of it began to be written from that moment.

Scott was never absent: through every valley, every turn, every moment of being remade, he was there. What he taught me wasn't only theology — it was the art of passing the baton well itself.
