But Saul grows jealous and wants him dead — David flees in the night, a fugitive with a future gone dark.

Now in his sixties, he's caught in an eerily similar situation — this time fleeing not Saul, but a coup led by his own favorite son, Absalom. He has already lost two sons and may be about to lose a third.

同一個人，隔了幾十年，在幾乎一樣的處境裡——年輕時伸手拿劍，想自己把結局握回來；年老時把約櫃送回城裡，連「讓神站在我這邊」的籌碼都放掉了。The same man, decades apart, in nearly identical situations — young, reaching for a sword to grab the ending back himself; old, sending the ark away, letting go of even the leverage of having God on his side.
馬利亞聽見「有一把劍要刺透你的心」時說「我是主的使女」，耶穌在客西馬尼園也說了近乎一樣的話——不是不再痛，是不再堅持自己決定結局怎麼收。Mary, hearing "a sword will pierce your soul," answers "I am the Lord's servant." Jesus in Gethsemane says nearly the same thing — not that the pain stops, but that they stop insisting on deciding how the ending goes.
