Two questions: what did I do with my luck? What do we do with our power?
At a commencement address, she left the room with one question:
What have I done with my good fortune?"
That question isn't a thank-you note. It's a question of responsibility.

Luck was never meant to be kept

She says: find a place worth tilling, let go, and plant your bit of luck there. Choose kindness, choose gentleness, choose to care, choose to love. Every one of those is a verb, not an adjective — not "be a kind person," but "choose kindness," chosen again and again.
She stood up. She chose to stay. She built an environment for others — that's what tilling deep looks like: cultivating good soil so good seed can grow.

We ask the same question, with a different subject

She asked: what have I done with my good fortune? We ask: what have we done with our power?
Luck is given. Power is grown. But neither one is meant to be kept.
A person begins to have power at the emotionally mature adolescent stage — not a physical age, but the point where a person can not only take responsibility for their own needs, but has something left over to give.
We turn that power into three very ordinary movements: walking into someone's world, so no one grows alone; bringing what's hidden — the struggle, the question, the truth — into the light together; and handing what we've walked on to the next person.
These three movements are the daily practice of walking side by side — no one leads, we simply walk forward together.

Ask yourself today: is there a piece of the power in my hands that could be planted right now?

Find someone today, and tell them a stretch of road you've already walked — not to teach them, but so they know they're not on this road alone.

Scripture

(哥林多前書 3:6-7) "I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes the growth." (1 Corinthians 3:6-7)
The one who plants and the one who waters are two different people; that sentence is already the shape of a field. We add our own sentence here because someone planted first.
