Jim was the first one who took me seriously. For twelve years he stood in the back as my back-up — three years of in-person training, plus nine years of ministry coaching. All along the way, he believed in the calling God placed in me — often seeing it before I could see it myself.

Jim brought me into North Point Ministries’ global(x) program. This is the year I wrote to Andy Stanley, and first met Jim in February — the beginning of my road with him.
2012–2015

Three years of in-person training at North Point · global(x). I was still a very new believer in those years, and Jim laid the foundation in me, little by little.
2015–2024
global(x) 結業之後，Jim 繼續擔任我的事工教練九年。不是教室，是生命對生命的同行——他在後方托住，我在前方走。我跑得太快太遠時，他把我拉回來；我跌倒時，他不衝上來扶，他蹲下來，等我自己站起來。
After global(x), Jim continued as my ministry coach for nine more years. Not a classroom — life-to-life companionship. He held the back; I walked forward. When I ran too far, too fast, he pulled me back; when I fell, he did not rush in to lift me — he crouched down and waited for me to stand on my own.
2024
Jim 退休。我們十二年的同行，在這一年告一個段落。
Jim retired. Our twelve years of walking together came to a close that year.

Jim 從來沒有走在我前面。他總是在後方——稱告、提問、把該說的話說清楚、把不該說的話留住。當我跌倒，他不衝過來扶我；他蹲下來，等我自己站起來。當我前進，他不上前領路；他退後一步，讓主來帶。
Jim never walked in front of me. He was always in the back — praying, asking, saying what needed to be said, holding back what didn’t. When I fell, he did not rush in to lift me up; he crouched down and waited for me to stand on my own. When I moved forward, he did not step in to lead; he stepped back, and let the Lord lead.
